Due dates & scheduling
Set due dates, use quick date options, and understand how the Upcoming view groups your work.
A due date tells Clarity.Do when a task needs to be done — and powers the Upcoming view.
Setting a due date
Open a task and choose a due date. Alongside the calendar you get quick options so you rarely need to pick an exact day:
- Today
- Tomorrow
- Within 3 days
- By this week
- By next week
- By this month
- By next month
- A custom date
Tasks don’t require a due date. Leave it off for anything that just needs to get done eventually — it still appears in Plan and Focus.
How Upcoming groups tasks
The Upcoming view sorts every dated task into bands:
| Band | Includes |
|---|---|
| Overdue | Past due and not yet complete |
| By Today | Due today |
| By Tomorrow | Due tomorrow |
| Within 3 Days | Due in the next few days |
| This Week / Next Week | Due later this week or next |
| This Month / Next Month | Due further out |
Overdue sits at the top on purpose — it’s the first thing you should clear. You can hide the other sections to work one band at a time.
Rescheduling
Change a task’s due date from its editor at any time; it moves to the matching band immediately. To repeat a task automatically instead of rescheduling it by hand, use recurrence (Premium).
Timezone and start of week
Due dates respect your timezone and your first day of week setting (Sunday or Monday), which decides where “this week” ends. Set both in Settings — if these look off, that’s the place to check.
